Not often an issue with most stucco systems utilized today. This is more often a problem encountered with natural stone and brick exterior finishes.

The flashing needs to extend out onto the surface of the deck a minimum of 2" further than the finished thickness of the exterior wall system.

Flashing installation needs to be scheduled BEFORE the exterior finish system is underway.

Often times the exterior finish system contractor will install flashing's when they begin, check with your contractor for more details.

If in fact the exterior contractor installs the flashing please make sure that they follow the details and specifications shown here to ensure a watertight, effective installation of any deck system.
